Mridangam: Sri K V Prasad Recipient of President’s Award

Sri Prasad is one of the most sought after Mridangists of our times. He learnt from Gurus such as the late Narayana Iyer, Parassala Ravi and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri T K Murthy. An AIR top ranking percussionist, Sri Prasad is known for his versatility with absolute mastery over virtually any form of percussion – tabla, western drums, congo, chenda and Edakka. He is also a carnatic vocalist.
For over 15 years Sri Prasad played alongside Smt M S Subbalakshmi. He has also accompanied most of the leading vocalists of current and previous generations including legendary musicians such as Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, Dr K J Yesudas, D K Pattammal, T N Seshagopalan, U Srinivas, Kadri Gopalnath to name a few. He has also extensively worked with music directors of many of the movies in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu – the most prominent one being his work in the movie His Highness Abdulla.
His accolades include Kalaimamani, Kerala Sangita Nataka Academy award, Asthana Vidwan of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham etc. He has travelled across the world performing at all major venues.

Violin :Sri B Ananthakrishnan

Sri B. Ananthakrishnan is the grandson of renowned Violin Vidhwan, the Late V.K. Venkata Ramanujam Iyengar (Exprofessor Performing Arts Banaras Hindu University), and son of equally reputed violinist Dr. V. Balaji, Head of the Department, Faculty of Performing Arts, Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi). Anantha Krishnan also tutored under the wellknown Violin Vidhwan, Sri S. Varadarajan.
He has had the honor of accompanying almost every living legend in the field, and continues to share the stage with all senior artists today. Sri Ananthakrishnan has performed in every major sabha all over India.
He has also performed concert tours in several countries around the world in Europe, USA, Singapore, Dubai, Doha, South Africa, and Australia. He holds a B-High grade from All India Radio, Chennai.

Kanjira: Sri S Selvaganesh

Kanjira maestro Swaminathan Selvaganesh grew up in a celebrated family of virtuoso Carnatic percussionists in Carnatic music. The grandson of Vikku Vinayakram and son of V. Selvaganesh. He has toured extensively with his grandfather and father. He has shared the stage with such major artists as Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Jasraj, Balamurali Krishna and Zakir Hussain.
Sri Selvaganesh is also a leading composer in the Tamil film industry, composing songs in a captivating assortment of genres, including traditional music and romantic ballads, and backed by a wide array of musicians from all over the world. He is also a master of konnakol (vocal percussion).

Mridangam: Dr G Babu

Dr G Babu, a disciple of Prof.Kadanad V K Gopi and Mridangam Masestro the late Guru KARAIKUDI R MANI. An A- Grade Artist in Mridangam at All India Radio. With an extensive repertoire, Dr Babu has graced numerous music concerts, sharing the stage with legendary musicians such as Dr.M Balamuralikrishna, Ustad Amjad Alikhan ,Dr N RAMANI, T N Sheshagopalan, T V Gopalakrishnan, Shri O S Thyagarajan, Shri Neyattinkara Vasudevan, Shri Kavalam Sreekumar, Smt Sudha Reghunathan, Prince Ramavarma among others ,both in India and Abroad.
His musical journey has taken him across the globe. He is alo a composer of classical music including Thillanas. In recognition of his out standing contributions, Dr Babu is the recepient of the Ustad Alla Rakha Memorial Award and the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy award. He has mentored students who have brought laurels to their respective institutions. He is a faculty at IIPA.

Violin: Sri Edappally Ajith Kumar

Violinist Edappally Ajith Kumar has been there on the kutcheri circuit for the last 23 years. He has accompanied almost all the leading vocalists in Carnatic music. He is a guest lecturer at the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady and since recently a full time professor at the Kerala Kala Mandalam. He is rank holder from the RLV college of music and also learnt under Guru Nedumangad Sivanandan. He has accompanied all major carnatic musicians including Sri Sanjay Subrahmanyan, Sreevalsan J Menon, Neyyattinkara Vasudevan, Sri Sankaran Namboodiri, K S Vishndev to name a few. He is an A grade artiste from All India Radio. He has traveled extensively and performed at many leading stages in India and abroad. He is a teacher to musicians with several leading professional musicians taking advanced lessons from him.

Anilkumar is an accomplished Ghatam artiste who graduated from the Swati Thirunal Music College in Thiruvananthapuram. He is among the most sought after Ghatam artistes in the current era. He is also adept in playing Mridangam. He has performed at numerous classical music festivals and collaborated with renowned artists, earning acclaim for his rhythmic precision and expressive performances. He has performed with most leading vocalists including Prince Rama Varma, Ashwanth Naryanan, Krishnakumar and Binni Krishnakumar, Shri Vinay Sharva to name a few |
